Bed liner the Rear Bumper

07/15/2023

It’s been a minute since I’ve done anything to the 4Runner — mostly just been enjoying it as-is. But that last bit of chrome on the rear bumper? Yeah, it had to go.

I looked into a few aftermarket options, but everything I found that I liked was basically a stock bumper with D-rings… not exactly worth the budget hit. So, after some thought, I decided to coat it with Raptor Liner instead.

Once the bumper was off, I hit everything I could with the angle grinder and tackled the rest by hand — not the most fun job in Texas heat. After degreasing, treating the rust, and wiping it down with paint thinner, it was ready for coating. Spraying the liner was surprisingly easy: 55 PSI, one side at a time, about an hour to dry between coats.

I probably should’ve waited 24 hours before reinstalling, but I was already drenched in sweat and ready to call it a day. Still, it turned out great — looks tough, feels solid, and I’ve got enough liner left to tackle the trailer next.
