Replacing the steering rack turned out to be one of those rare garage wins where everything actually goes mostly according to plan. No broken bolts, no part runs—just a little crawling around under the 4Runner, some strategic wiggling, and the expected amount of power steering fluid on the floor (and my arms… and probably my face).

Once the old, leaky rack was out, the new one slid in without a fight. A few bolts torqued down, new tie rods installed, and after a quick bleed of the system—tight, responsive steering again.

Honestly, compared to most jobs on this truck, this one was almost relaxing.
