Pretty uneventful maintenance day today, which is exactly how I like them.

The 4Runner got another dose of Mobil 1 High Mileage oil and a fresh filter, followed by a quick check of all the fluids. Nothing exciting to report there, so I moved on to putting the 12V grease gun to work on the suspension.

Which provided another reminder that I hate greasing things. As easy as the electric grease gun and locking zerk fitting make the job, I still somehow manage to make a mess. This time I also had the pleasure of changing the grease cartridge.

Let me tell you...

If you're ever kidnapped and they tell you, "Call someone who can change this tube of grease without making a mess and we'll let you go"...

With myself and most of the surrounding area sufficiently greased, I moved on to one small modification I'd been wanting to try.

A few weeks ago I came across a really simple idea for extending the A/C evaporator drain. From the factory, the drain dumps condensation on the frame, and rerouting it farther away seemed like one of those incredibly simple modifications that couldn't hurt.

I happened to have some spare 3/8-inch hose collecting dust in the garage, so this project cost me essentially nothing.

I slipped the hose over the factory drain, secured it with a small hose clamp, and routed it downward before zip-tying the other end behind the sway bar mount. I'd eventually like to replace the zip tie with something a little more permanent, but for now it's secure, out of the way, and doing exactly what I wanted.
