Shift Indicator
01/27/2026
I’ve wanted to replace my shift indicator for a long time, but like most non-critical projects, I didn’t want to pay for it. These little plastic indicators are surprisingly expensive — $50+ for something you barely think about — which is why I’ve been half-heartedly trying to snag one from a junkyard for ages with no luck.
Then one day, while browsing the internet for reasons I no longer remember, I stumbled across a guy who actually makes replacements. He offers a few different fonts and even some custom options, but in the end, I went with the standard OEM-style version. No need to get creative here — I just wanted it to look right.
Installation was quick and painless. Honestly, the hardest part of the job was cleaning out the old, brittle pieces from the original indicator. That took longer than actually installing the new one. Once everything was cleaned up, the new indicator dropped right in and looked exactly how it should.
Nothing flashy, nothing complicated — just one of those small fixes that makes the interior feel a little less tired and a little more complete.
