Along with the under-hood LEDs, I decided to finally upgrade to a set of Spiker Engineering hood struts—and honestly, I should’ve done this ages ago. The install went pretty smoothly, though I did make one small “creative decision.” Instead of following the instructions exactly, I had my daughter help hold the hood while I drilled the mounting holes. Let’s just say her aim was… close enough.

So instead of getting the full 8 inches of lift, I gained about 4. Still, the result is solid, and it works great. No more juggling the hood prop rod or having it smack me in the head while I’m wrenching.

Totally worth the minor miscalculation.
